is BWC?
Friends from the Northeast
Engage . . .
“I love being able to fellowship with other people
from the Northeast! Knowing there are so many other
believers out there gives me reassurance that God is
working in something bigger than me on my campus.”
Engage with others, Engage with God.
Invest quality time in the relationships that matter the
most. Ensure a lasting dependency on God and a
strong connection with friends that will keep you going
throughout the year and the rest of your life.
“The time in the presence of God . . . [His] faithfulness
and love for me was so strong during this time.”
“The campus times gave me a place to be real and
vulnerable around those [with whom] I needed to be.”
Students at seminar
Equip . . .
“Hearing about all of the ministry opportunities was
really exciting and really challenging. I am so excited
to hear about all that God will do with us as a group of people.”
We are meant to be prepared for the challenges God
is leading us toward. We need to be taught, both
individually and as a community, how to live out our
lives in love for and service to our Creator. BWC will
help you discover what this can look like.
Day of Outreach
Ignite . . .
“Now more than ever my heart has been breaking for
my generation . . . God [has shown] me that there is
more to be done through me.”
You have the potential to make an unparalleled
impact on the world, using the particular gifts that God
has placed inside you. BWC is a chance to find that
spark within us, and to learn how to share it with others.
Some of you may be wondering what exactly Boston Winter Conference is, while others of you may be seasoned veterans and know all about the happenings at this annual event. But lets start with the basics.
What is it?
Boston Winter Conference happens once a year over winter break, just after New Year’s starting January 1st and ending January 5th. Hundreds of college students, like you, travel to Boston from all over the northeastern region and spend five days and four nights in Boston’s Sheraton Hotel to have fellowship with one another and to be challenged by God to go out and spread His Word.
What happens here?
The five days include several talks by some awesome speakers and workshops that are conducted in smaller groups and are meant to address some more specific questions you may have about your faith or sharing your faith with many different types of people. In addition to being challenged spiritually and intellectually in these main talks and workshops, there is some great worship happening each day and evening as well as a concert one night put on by a special guest band. There are also numerous opportunities for you to meet and engage with other college students from other schools in this region whether it is in the workshops, your meal times or your free times. It is really a great an encouraging time to see so many people like you be so passionate about showing God’s love to the students on their campuses.
In addition to time spent in worship, hearing speakers and hanging out with your new friends, this year each of you will be given the opportunity to explore the city and hear about God’s heart for this modern day Athens as well as get some historical background about some of Boston’s landmarks through a walking podcast tour.
Finally the best and most challenging part of this conference is the Day of Faith out reach. For one day during this conference, you have the chance to go out to Boston’s residents to share your faith with them, pray for them, hear what they believe about God and Jesus, or even just deliver them their next meal. This day is such an amazing way to see God at work in this great city and to put into practice everything you have been hearing about and learning all week.
Why should I go?
A better question is “Why not go?” This conference is such a great time of growth and time to witness God’s work. It is a great opportunity to equip yourself with the tools you will need to share your faith as well as just a great boost to re-kindle that fire for your next semester. It is in the middle of your break, but we all know what goes on during winter break after Christmas is over– a whole lot of sleeping and eating and not much else. Boston Winter Conference is a great way to spice things up and make your winter break a memorable one.
For your conference veterans, some of you may be thinking, ‘Why should I go this year? I already went last year.” And that’s what is so great about winter conference. No two are the same. Each year conference focuses on some specific aspect of God. This year we will be focusing on Glory and what that is and what it may look like. Also each year has different speakers and different workshops to attend as well as different musical guests.
How do I register?
Great question. Just go to the top of this page and click on the registration tab and you can do it all online.
