Ambassadors
Would you like to be a BWC Ambassador?
Our world is a complex place of awe that can be entangled in brokenness. We all have needs, challenges, joys and dreams. Jesus loves us and came to conquer sin and death in our lives so that we may join him in an abundant life of hope and joy. He wants each of us to give our lives to him so that we may see the glory of God on earth and experience a real relationship – with God and others. Christ longs for us to know God, pursue and love others and passionately share the hope He offers in the midst of our suffering and pain. The power of the love of Christ provides light in a dark world.
BWC is our opportunity to come together, which we can’t do online, and have a face to face time to engage, equip, and ignite together, as part of the Kingdom of God. We’ll be setting aside the distractions of our normal lives and focusing on Him while enjoying time with others who are trying to figure out what it means to walk with the Lord and make Him known.
BWC ambassadors together have the opportunity to invest two valuable commodities in getting others to the conference – time and energy. You’re probably busier than ever before, so we don’t take your investment for granted! In light of this, we want to be up front about what we’re asking of you in the coming months:
1. Grab some friends that are excited about the conference and meet together once a week to pray for each other, your campuses and for BWC.
2. Set some goals and take time to dream.
How many people would you like to see at the conference this year? What would it mean for these individuals to come to BWC in terms of their own faith journeys and the impact it can have on your campuses and the world? What is it that keeps people from attending the conference?
3. Team up with your Staff Coach in person or on the phone.
Talk about the resources the Staff Team can use towards getting students to the conference. What has worked in the past? Brainstorm new ideas as well. How can you use student gatherings (i.e. Small Groups, Fall Retreat, Coaching/Mentoring Meetings, Weekly/ Monthly Area Gathering) to communicate what BWC is to students? How will you use resources like the conference brochure, Facebook, Youtube and the internet to get the word out?
4. Attend your Fall Retreat.
BWC Ambassadors + Fall Retreat = a splendid match. When everyone gets away to spend time as a community and hear from the Lord in the midst of the fall term, an opening occurs allowing us to share more about the upcoming winter conference. We need you there to be a part of creating this opportunity.
5. Implement your goals by setting up a timeline and assigning roles to share the responsibility as a group. Cover your progress at your weekly BWC Ambassador time.
6. Off we go! There’s no time like right now. We can’t wait to see you all at BWC this year!
$200 is a Lot of Money

FAQ’s
Student Pre-Registration
All students should pre-register online at www.bostonwinterconference.com
Conference Dates: January 1-5, 2011 (staff arrives on January 1st).
Online registration opens in mid-September of 2009.
The early registration deadline is December 15th at noon. Students will receive a $20 discount, lowering their conference cost from $215 to $195 if registered by this date and time. Please note: CRS 2.0 enables us to close registration mid-day, so NOON is a firm deadline. Students must register by noon on 12/15 to receive the early registration discount.
Online registration will close at noon on December 26th. After that you will have to wait and register when you arrive on January 2nd. A non-transferable, non-refundable deposit of $50 is required for pre- registration, but you can choose to pay more than the deposit. Express on-site registration is available to all students who pay in full online by December 26th. Credit cards and checks are accepted for online pre- registration.
1. What options do I have for paying for the conference online?
BWC accepts Visa and MasterCard. Additionally, a student may pay by check by printing out their confirmation page and sending it to the Regional Office with their deposit check. Checks should be made payable to the Boston Winter Conference. Cash should not be sent in the mail.
2. What options do I have for paying for the conference
We will accept all forms of payment above, plus cash.
3. What if I’m getting a scholarship?
Students can select a scholarship amount and staff member to approve the scholarship when they pre-register online. The system will generate an email to the staff member for approval. The scholarship will only be valid after the staff member logs into the system and approves it. Staff MUST input scholarships online by December 28th at noon in order for a student to receive the scholarship.
4. What if a campus wants to pay for a group of students using a purchase order or campus check?
Have the students or the campus contact Susie Richardson at the Regional Office at (617) 338-4033 x20. The sooner the better!
5. Can a student pay part of their pre-registration deposit by credit card, and/or part by check, and/or part by scholarship?
Yes. Students can make multiple online payments in advance of the conference.
6. Can a student get their money back if they decided not to attend after registering?
Yes, but only the amount they paid over the $50 deposit. The deposit of $50 is non-refundable and non-transferable. Note: This is also the case for staff members who choose to scholarship a student for the initial deposit amount of $50. If the student decides not to attend, the staff member is still responsible for this deposit and it is non-refundable and non-transferable. We advise staff to challenge students to put down the initial deposit and give them the scholarship after the student has done so.
7. Can a student transfer their registration or deposit to another student?
No. The $50 deposit is non-transferable. No student will be allowed to “go in place of” another student.
8. How do students select roommates?
There will be four students per room. In order to choose your roommates, you must go through on-site registration, at the Sheraton, together. During on-site registration we will help pair students who do not have a “foursome” with others in the same situation.
9. My campus can only attend part of the conference due to a school schedule conflict. What should we do? Can students still stay at the hotel?
Because of our hotel arrangements for room allocation, we cannot register students for only part of the conference. We do, however, offer a day pass at $50 and half day pass at $25 but neither include housing at the hotel. This allows for a flexible schedule of conference attendance provided you are able to find other accommodations. We also have a commuter rate of $175 for the whole conference for those not staying in the hotel. Note: Commuters still need to register online at www.bostonwinterconference.com.
10. How should we process fundraising checks?
Instructions for processing fundraising checks can be found at www.bostonwinterconference.com under“Getting Here.”
11. What is the Boston Outreach Night? How do guests gain admittance to the session on January 2nd?
BWC is opening its doors on the first night for the Boston Outreach Night. Anyone can attend the very first night of the conference and hear great music and a special Gospel centered message. If you have friends or family in Boston who have questions about Jesus and spiritual issues, this is a great opportunity for any one to hear a thoughtful explanation of how and why to follow Jesus.
Guests should visit the BWC Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the Sheraton Boston Hotel to receive a free admission ticket. Doors open at 7 PM, January 2, 2010.
