This weekend is new, fun and exciting. BWC 2010 will feature you – STUDENTS – to lead musical worship. We will use this weekend to select our praise and worship team. This “all-star” student band will help lead BWC participants in worship of our great God.
Musicians needed:
- Drums
- Bass
- Electric Guitar
- Acoustic Guitar/Singer/Worship Leader
- Keyboard/Singer
Because of space limitations, the first 5 who complete paid registrations in each category will be given priority to attend. If you are able to find your own sleeping accommodations , you may be allowed to attend beyond the first 5 who register.
Value:
Those attending the weekend will not only have an opportunity to try out for the BWC worship team but they will also receive worship training and resources to take back to campus. The weekend is designed to help you grow in skill and knowledge in leading worship.
Our audition time, as well as the team chosen will be directed by Dave Fackler. Dave has been a music director with Keynote for 27 years and helped to lead musicians all over the world. He has helped to construct three recording studios and trained over fifty sound techs.
This weekend will include discussions and seminars on topics like ……
● What is and what isn’t worship?
● Worship Dynamics
● Creating Worship Sets
This responsibility is not to be taken lightly. We are looking for men and women who are committed to musical excellence and a heart of gratitude for being redeemed by Jesus.
We are committed to selecting men and women who……
Have a skill in music. Psalm 33:3 says, “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”
Realize this is not about you and the coolness factor of leading worship. Instead Psalm 115:1 says, ” Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory , because of your love and faithfulness.”
Realize that your conference will be a blast, but understand there is a significant time commitment. Your schedule will be different than ever before. Your schedule will be less flexible than your friends. There may be rehearsals in the mornings, evenings, afternoons, etc. Practice times won’t be scheduled until we are on site.
Create a musical sound that is good and right for the conference. Although many times we find people who are musically gifted, their sound does not blend well with the overall tone we are trying to produce; therefore you may not be selected this year. If you are not accepted this year, it does not mean you are not acceptable another year.
