BWC Sing Off 2011
It’s the BWC Sing-Off! Back by popular demand, the BWC Sing-Off is your opportunity to be a star! Grab a group of friends and get your a capella on. The BWC Sing-Off is an a capella competition similar to the hit show on NBC. Like last year, finalists will perform in front of the entire conference on the main stage.
Groups must have 3 or more participants, must compete with one of the judges’ pre-approved songs, and are responsible for their own arrangements and choreography. Auditions will be held Sunday afternoon, January 2. Sign up for an audition time at the BWC Info Booth or email The BWC Creative Team.
Parking at BWC 2011
Your best bet is to arrive by bus, train or plane and use public transportation (MBTA Public Transportation). If at all possible don’t drive to the hotel. Parking can be expensive and challenging (parking options).
However we have worked out a deal to park at MIT that you may be able to take advantage of if you hurry.
Here’s the 411:
Parking Passes for the MIT parking lot.
Location of the parking lot is here. It is just under 2 miles from the Sheraton hotel. You can walk back to the hotel or walk to Mass Ave and catch the 1 Bus over the river and then walk to the Sheraton. More detailed directions will be available when you check in at the hotel. Here’s a map to the parking.
There is no cost to park in the MIT lot for Dec. 31st, Jan. 1st, and Jan. 2nd. However Parking Passes are needed for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. People who leave the lot by 7:30am on the 5th do not need a pass for that day.
It’s $13 per day for Jan 3rd, 4th, and 5th. If you don’t need to use one of these days, you can pay less. If you don’t want to pay for Jan. 5th you will need to have your car out of the lot by 7:30 am, or you may get ticketed.
If you want a parking pass, and they are first come first served, please email Chris Swanson with your name, cell number, and if you need a 1, 2, or 3 day pass.

FREE BWC for your Campus
This is a great opportunity for you or someone from your campus to win a full scholarship to Boston Winter Conference.
Just create a post for your campus on the BWC fan page on Facebook that says “Our campus is going to BWC” and then have everyone from your campus or anyone really, hit the “like” button. The campus post with the most “likes” between now and Noon on December 15 wins a full scholarship to BWC.
So for example, if you go to Providence College, you should go to Facebook and search for the BWC Fan page. Then either post “Providence College is going to BWC” or find a post that one of your classmates already posted there and the like it. Get your friends to “like” it. Heck, get your Mom to “like” it. You know she’s on Facebook anyway.
The campus post with the most “likes” before noon on December 15 wins and then I’ll pick one student from that campus who has pre-registered for BWC. So pay close attention to that last part.
You can’t win unless you complete a $50 BWC pre-registration (don’t worry, we’ll refund you $50 if you win). But you can help others win even if you can’t go to BWC. But if you can go, don’t miss the chance to win by forgetting to pre-register.
Ok, you’ve got less than one week. Let the best campus win!
